Ik dacht ik waag er een nieuwe topic tegen aan en zal zelf beginnen met het eerste gedichtje.

Look into his eyes,

the dog I love so much.

Oh leuk. Ik heb er zo geen behalve afscheidsgedichtjes maar dat komt vanzelf.

Waar is Obi het is zo rustig wat zou er zijn?

Dan hoor je wat knorren... het klinkt als een zwijn.

Twee ogen kijken je vanuit de dooropening aan.

Nu denk je: ah, het is Obi ik zie hem daar staan.

Hij wil je iets zeggen maar wat zal het zijn?

Hij blaft als een hond, maar gedraagt zich nog steeds als een zwijn. 

Zodra je van je stoel opstaat verdwijnt hij snel naar de tuin.

Dan zie je het opeens; heel de plantenbak omgewroet, alles in puin.

Nog voor je kunt reageren verdwijnt hij weer naar binnen.

Grrr.. tijd om maar weer met opruimen te beginnen...

Een paar minuten later kijken de twee ogen je weer voorzichtig aan.

Hij kijkt verdrietig alsof hij wil zeggen "Ik weet wat ik heb gedaan...."

Als ik jouw foto zie kan ik mij voorstellen dat het baasje nooit lang boos kan zijn!!

Dat heeft een reden

en die is gegrond.

Het is namelijk pure rijkdom;

dat ik veel liever verkies.

Ooh leuk! Maar is het de bedoeling om zelf gedichtjes te schrijven of mag het ook van ergens anders komen?

Deze gedichtjes komen ook niet van mezelf hoor, dus zet maar neer.

Now that I’m home, bathed, setteld and fet,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,
I’d like to open my baggage.
Lest I forget,

Hmm… Yes there it is, right on the top.
Let’s unpack loneliness, heartache and loss;
And there by my leach hide fear and shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hart to leave –
I still have to unpack my baggage called pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn’t good enough – for they didn’t want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things –
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage?
To never repack?

I pray that you do – I’m so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage,
Will you still want me?

Ben een emo muts, maar moest even een traantje wegpinken, slaat zo op onze Joey.

Prachtig gedichtje, ga ik ook weer in m'n boekje zetten.

Pitbull blues

People see me walking down the street they all run and hide.
I used to take it personally not take it in strides.
I got nothing aginst no one I wouldn’t hurt a fly.
People seem to think i’m mean and heres why, andheres why…

I’m a pitbull,big bown red nose pitbull,a tooth baring muscle bound pitbull i look like i can tare the sceal off a loo’ka motive freat train.
People park three spaces away when i’m waiting inthe car.

All the kids in the neighborhood they never walk through my yard.

And theres a rumor floating around the county that i ate three cats.
But I swear from the bottom of my K9 heart i didn’t do that.
Nooo i didnt do that.
But I’m a pitbull,big brown red nose pitbull,
A tooth bareing muscle bound pitbull,I look like I can dig a hole through a concrete wall.
yaaa.
I got these pitbull blues all I want to do is sniff your shoes.

I aint no killer hound though im the friendliest dog in town.
The shear sound of my bark can break through artic ice.
Deep down I’m a pussy cat,I’m just trying to be nice.
In case you didn’t notice I’m wagging my tail at the speed of light.
But no matter what i do im accused of looking for a fight.

..het raakt je diep als je je eigen rugzakhond hebt zien opbloeien...stap voor stap

Ach hoe ontroerend, ik vind oude hondjes ook zo ontroerend om te zien, die grijze snuitjes, grijze wimpertjes, prachtig.

En dat gedichtje van Toon Hermans is ook helemaal waar!

Ik denk dat jullie deze wel kennen?

Viendschap.

De vriendschap van een hond,

is een vriendschap voor het leven.

Voor een ander niet te zien,

hoeveel een hond kan geven.

Want ben je eens verdrietig,

dan kijkt hij je aan, alsof hij zeggen wil

ik zal altijd naast je staan.

En als je dan weer vrolijk bent,

dan slaat hij met zijn staart en blaft als of hij zeggen wil 

dat hebben we weer geklaard.

Zo'n vriendschap is een wonder,

een wonder om te beleven.

Zo'n vriendschap kan geen mens,

Ik heb er ook nog eentje. Het is wel een afscheidsgedicht en ik had hem ook in mijn topic over Arran en Aedon geplaatst, maar ik dacht; laat ik het hier ook maar even plaatsen.

Poem Of A Lost pet.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It’s me, I haven’t left you, I’m well, I’m fine, I’m here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I’m not lying there.
I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I wish you could see it’s me.

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.
I am here and I’m near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, I never went away.
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew.
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over… I sit and watch you yawning
Like so many times before, I’ll see you in the morning.
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I’ll rush across to greet you and we’ll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

ik had dit ooit eens voor Lola mijn eerste herplaatser geschreven, ze was nog niet zo heel lang bij ons en droomde vaak zo naar, al jankend en snikkend. Als ze dan wakker werd en me aankeek had ze altijd een soort lach op haar gezicht alsof ze opgelucht was. Ze was een hond die in het begin niemand vertrouwde en veel gromde en me de eerste avond zelfs beet, (maar dat was volledig mijn eigen schuld), en na best wel korte tijd bleek ze toch vertrouwen op te kunnen bouwen. Ze kwam toen eens met een botje aan mijn voeten liggen terwijl ze eerst altijd gromde als ik te dicht bij haar etensbak kwam.

Dankje, lieve hond
 
Je ligt hier aan mijn voeten en slaapt,
het lamplicht schijnt op je glanzende vacht,
je rekt je uit en gaapt
je kijkt me aan en lacht,
 
Waar droomde je van mijn lieve hond?
Wat heb je meegemaakt, vertel het mij,
Van wat eens lang geleden was?
Stil maar het is voorbij,
je bent veilig en gezond.
 
In je leventje was nog niet veel goeds,
en toch vertrouw jij mij?
 
Mensen hebben je teleurgested en pijn gedaan,
en toch bouw jij op mij?
 
Met heel mijn hart zeg ik aan jou:
dankje lieve hond
dankje dat je mij vertrouwd.

Oh wat mooi weer zeg, wat een wonder is het toch eigenlijk dat een hond na allerlei ellende door mensen aangedaan tóch weer mensen kunnen vertrouwen hé?

En dat afscheidsgedicht is ook prachtig.
